A fine American late Aesthetic/early Arts & Crafts movement cigar box in mixed metals,the interior lined with box wood.The box and lid is of rectangular form with the body formed of copper. The surface finely hammered and capped and edged with wide bands of shaped sterling silver inter-spaced at regular intervals by ‘rivets’. The lid of the box engraved with an original monogram, which is contemporary to the piece, and the bottom of the vessel is stamped with the maker’s mark, Theodore B. Starr, New York, Sterling Silver, & Other Metals in ascending to descending order respectively.
